Kratom - A Creativity Super Drug

It's been two months of experimentation with Kratom. I wrote about it all in this post. I've given it to whoever was willing to try and most friends and family love it. The benefits seem to be reduced anxiety, feelings of euphoria and chronic pain relief.

Dosing - My dosing has steadily increased. A 1/2 teaspoon twice daily is now 1 teaspoon 3 times daily. I still don’t think it’s addictive. I just benefit from it, so I take it. Is that addiction? The intense itching I experienced with doses over ½ teaspoon have gone away. Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be a tolerance building.

Pain - I don't have chronic pain so I'm not a good judge of Kratoms pain relief benefits. But, I do experience DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) from powerlifting. This is technically painful but not chronic. DOMS does disrupt my sleep and can be annoying to deal with. Kratom helped with that. My Dad and good friend Andrew both have chronic back pain. My Dad has had it for decades, Andrew broke his back in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago. Kratom works for them both. Enough that they both are able to exercise now.

Mood Elevation - Kratom reduces anxiety and causes feelings of euphoria. About 20 minutes after ingestion, there’s a warm soothing feeling that flows over your body and emotions. The closest thing I can relate it to is opiate painkillers like Vicodin or Norco. It's relaxing and stimulating at the same time, which is a very cool combination. I find myself a little chattier with others, giggly and just more positive.

Creativity – I didn’t see this one coming. Kratom is awesome for creativity. In all my research I didn’t come across anyone talking about this.

Kratom doesn't stimulate creativity directly. Rather, it reduces worry so creativity can emerge. Anxiety kills my creative energy. When I'm worried, the creative juices don't flow. I can’t write or generate any good ideas when I’m stressed out. I can't stop focusing on negativity.

Kratom melts away worry, then ideas percolate upward. I noticed I was taking an unusually large amount of notes throughout the days I ingested Kratom. I fond myself excited about these ideas and wanted to write about them. One morning I took a big dose of Kratom and sat down to write. Bingo…flowstate.

I can’t recall if I produced any worthwhile content, but that’s not the point. The point is I was able to sit down and enjoy the creative process. That's valuable to me. Writing is usually a slog through knee deep mud; a painful and anxious exercise in self-doubt. Not with Kratom. That warm and relaxed feeling falls over me and the pen dances across the page. My notepad is growing faster than ever. I enjoy writing these blogs again.

Tips and Tricks:

Fasting - Ingestion while fasted has a stronger effect. If you're into keto fasting is easy, and you're probably aware of the mental boost it gives.

I usually begin fasting around 4-5 p.m. and break the fast the following day around lunch time. So taking Kratom in the morning works great for me. I have great mental energy in the mornings anyway. I love this method for writing.

Coffee - Kratom and caffeine are a match made in heaven. The combination of euphoria and stimulation is badass. Get shit done stress free, badass. This is also great for creativity and exercise.

MCT powder - It's no secret to the keto community that MCT's are excellent for cognition. MCT's convert easily to ketones, which the brain sucks up and uses for energy. Relaxation plus high levels of brain function...yes please.

Combining all of the above with Kratom is simply magic. Wake up fasted, drink some coffee with MCT powder and dose yourself with Kratom...Brain Firing!

Running - The key to running is staying relaxed and loose. Add in the pain relieving benefits and Kratom becomes a pretty legit performance enhancing drug. I've found that I enjoy my long slow runs a little more when I'm on Kratom.

Purchasing - Since my original post, purchasing Kratom through EZKRATOM.COM has changed. Because of legislation it’s harder to purchase and sell Kratom online. Paypal and Venmo can’t be used anymore. Instead, you must purchase with e-check. You have to give bank info which feels sketchy, especially online. But, several of my homies went for it and received their kilos with no hiccups.

If you know of another purchasing method please share.

Conclusion - Kratom is an awesome plant medicine with many applications. Try it...that’s all I have to say about that.
